Join your neighbors at Crofton Library on Saturday, October 23, for a day of beautification. Wear your work clothes, bring your garden gloves and tools, and come prepared to weed, plant daffodil bulbs provided by Crofton Village Garden Club, spread mulch, and rake leaves. Arrive at 9, and you’ll be on your way home by noon.
You’ve probably noticed how the grounds at Crofton Library have been less attractive lately than in the past. That’s because county budget cuts have eliminated staff who would have maintained the grounds. But we don’t have to settle for “ugly” in Crofton, when there are so many people and organizations willing to help.
Of course you can just show up on Saturday, but it would be helpful if you sign up at the Library Information Desk, call (410)222–7915, or email firstname.lastname@example.org so they know how many people to anticipate. So far, the weather forecast is looking good for Saturday (Sunny, around 64 degrees), but the work-day will be canceled in the event of rain.
Can’t make it on Saturday, October 23? Mark your calendar for Friday, November 12, when this community effort will be continued.
